Sleeping Murder chronicles Miss Marple’s final case. Though written before Nemesis (1971) it was not published until after her death in 1976. It was the second of the two novels she had written during the Second World War and it was this one she made over, by deed of gift, to Max Mallowan, her husband. Sleeping Murder represents a fitting finale for Miss Marple.
Sleeping Murder was adapted for television by the BBC in 1987, starring Joan Hickson as Miss Marple and by ITV in 2006 with Geraldine McEwan.
