Soon after Gwenda moves into her new home, odd things start to happen. Despite her best efforts to modernise the house, she only succeeds in dredging up its past. Notes and reviews

The novel chronicles the last case of Jane Marple, although the author wrote it during World War II. The book was then kept in a vault until its publication more than thirty years later.
