Publishing: First published in 1937 by William Collins Sons & Co. in London, and in 1938 by Dodd, Mead & Co. in New York. Stage: Adapted by the author for the stage in 1946 as 'Murder on the Nile', and opened at the Ambassadors Theatre in London on March 19, 1946. The play was renamed 'Hidden Horizon' and opened at the Plymouth Theatre in New York on September 19, 1946. Film: The film version, entitled 'Death on the Nile', was produced by EMI in 1978 and starred Peter Ustinov as Hercule Poirot. The all-star cast and attention to glamour in period and location made it a big-budget production. It was filmed for ITV's Poirot series in 2003 with David Suchet as Poirot.Notes and reviews
